Remnants of Bernice is a scaling dungeon consisting of 8 waves of random enemies followed by a single boss. The main use of this content is the leveling of Aether Gem.

Mercenary Badge are awarded in quantities that scale with the highest Stage cleared the prior week, this amount caps at floor X.
Upon successful completion of a Bernice stage a Kupole will appear and allow the player 5 attempts to level their aether gem. Consuming an Aether Gem Catalyst after clearing a stage will increase your enhance attempts by an additional 5. Aether gems canbe leveled while socketed in a weapon or from your inventory.
<aside> 💡 By clearing a stage 14 levels greater than your aether gem you can guarantee that 5 successive enhance attempts will have 100% success rate.

Each time the player clears a new record high floor they will unlock a stage equal to their clear stage + 5 (i.e. clearing Stage 100 unlocks up to Stage 105). These tips might help struggling players push their highest stage clear:
